American Trim is an innovative company that is regularly changing, growing, and strives to do things better. Along with this, a lot of company’s cannot compete with the financial security American Trim offers.

American Trim regularly encourages and pushes me to continue my education, to strive to complete new professional certifications, and allows me to be innovative in my career by encouraging me to create improved processes and try new strategies.

The family atmosphere of the company is amazing and would be hard to replicate at other companies. The company encourages me to maintain a healthy balance between work and family. It is a friendly environment to work in that also allows me to continuously improve myself both professionally and personally.

I was nineteen with a child on the way, a life I would soon be responsible for beside my own. I was working my way through college at UNOH, twisting a wrench in a garage, barely able to make ends meet for myself never mind a family. With what felt like limited choices, I dropped out of college and started looking for work. American Trim (at that time Stolle) had a strong presence in the community. I came to work here out of necessity rather than desire. Before even stepping through the door, my intentions were to work here not more than 2 years, and be on to bigger and better things.

That being said American Trim has supported my career ambitions allowing me to provide well for my family. With some initiative and a little common sense, I found a great deal of opportunity for advancement. Starting as a press operator, I worked through roles of increasing responsibility eventually taking advantage of the Tuition Reimbursement Program offered by American Trim earning a degree in Electronics/Automation and Robotics. I am now Maintenance Manager and work with a great team of Maintenance and Engineering folks.

What has really kept me at American Trim over the years is not just the continued growth that I have achieved but also the team of folks that I work with each day. Knowing that the group of folks I work with are capable and willing to step up to the plate when things get tough and makes things happen. They have my back and I have theirs. It is that sense of Team that kept me here since first starting in 1999.

I learned about American Trim from a friend who was working here and knew I was looking for a job. He told me that Erie Ceramic (now American Trim) was hiring and that it was a good place to work. I applied and was hired to work in the Millroom.

I worked on both 1st and 2nd shift in the Millroom over the course of 4 years. Because of my hard work and problem solving abilities, management thought I would be a good fit for our new Power Coating process and moved me to this area. I worked side-by-side with the equipment manufacturer and the ceramic engineer to learn how to operate the equipment. That was 28 years ago and I have been working here ever since.

I have been able to move up in my job from Millroom Operator to Powder Coat Operator and then into my current position as Senior Powder Coat Technician. I have always enjoyed a challenge, and in my role I am able to work on new products to determine the most efficient way to process the parts. I also have the opportunity to troubleshot problems and determine the nest solution. There have been many changes over 28 years and sometimes they are difficult, but we have a good team here and we work together and help each other manage the changes.

American Trim is a family-owned business and that was extremely important to me because I wanted to be in a company where questions could be answered through interaction with leaders and owners. Being from this area, it was also important to me to see a company that has strong local ties and is committed to staying in these communities.

My career goals are focused on progressively increasing responsibility and scope in a business, and my career path so far has followed that. My efforts have been rewarded with new assignments and positions that have challenged me to continuously develop my own skill set, and this will serve to assist me in becoming a better business leader.

I have a great team of people who care about one another, our employees, and our facility. While the work I do is fulfilling, it is the team around me, my manager and 1-up, my peers, and my team, that keep me at American Trim.

I was attracted to American Trim for the opportunity to join a family-owned local company that matched my values. I had previously worked for a family-owned company that sold to an investment group. From the point of the sale, the company culture began to change. There was less interest in innovation and the people began to be more a number than a person. American Trim provided me the opportunity to be known as a person and continually strive for cutting-edge innovation to solve our customer’s challenges.

The company has consistently provided opportunities for me to increase my level of responsibility and has fully supported all personal development activities I have wanted to engage in.

I number of things keep me at American Trim … the family values, the location that keeps me in the area close to my family, the company’s interest in innovation, and a position that provides challenge and growth.

American Trim attracted me for its vision, innovation, market presence, and the development they offer to employees. I feel accomplished personally and professionally working as part of a team fulfilling the company objectives.

During my career at the company, I was fortunate to work in different areas including production, materials, and systems. They encourage learning and development for me to achieve my professional goals.

American Trim has challenged me all the way through that lead me to the position that I am currently performing at the company. We are always evolving as professionals and learning from all the work as the team focuses on customer needs.

I applied for an engineering position in the Decorated Products Business Unit, so I was really excited to get out of the automotive industry. Additionally, the fact that the shop was non-union and American based was appealing to me.

American Trim has been open in supporting my career goals by allowing me to plan, educate, and pursue what would be beneficial to my career in the long run.

The people, my colleagues that I work with are like family. Furthermore, my past and current managers have all been supportive and flexible to allow a balanced work life, which is important to me.

I was looking for stability and heard that American Trim had many opportunities. I also liked the idea of One Company, One Brand, One Team.

I view my job as an essential component for the business. At work, I see and admire employees that utilize their talents and gifts, and work to the best of their ability. I enjoy being a part of the success that my employees have with the company.

Being able to lead others, and know that I can make a difference each and every day. I appreciate the skillset of my employees, and the opportunities I receive to work with and learn from others in the business.

I was first introduced to American Trim at a portfolio review my senior year of college. During the presentation, they passed around display boards that showed the different patterns and textures they had created for the appliance and car industries. As someone who loves working more hands on I fell in love with the process of how they created these products; I left the presentation wanting to know more about the company and the process that went into creating these.

American Trim has supported me in my career goals by giving me the opportunity to grow as a graphic designer. I have been given the chance to work on their branding, website design, and develop innovative patterns and textures.

There are two things that keep me coming to work at American Trim: the people I work with and the opportunities I’ve been given. The community at American Trim is very welcoming and encouraging. American Trim has this family feel to it, everyone is there to help anyone in need whether it has to do with a task at work or a personal issue. Every day I come into work I know I have the chance to learn something new or grow my skills. I have learned so much here already and can’t wait to learn so much more.
