About American Trim

American Trim provides engineered solutions to form, coat, and decorate metal, along with extensive experience formulating and manufacturing coatings to meet our customers’ unique performance specifications. We supply Fortune 500 companies including Tier 1 and Tier 2 OEMs. American Trim supplied components appear in a wide range of products of highly decorated control panels for the appliance industry, structural and cosmetics parts for the heavy-duty truck industry, and unique finishes for automotive trim. Building long-standing relationships with our customers, we ship globally over 40 million parts annually from nine U.S. locations and two in Mexico.

American Trim began as a Lima Tool and Die in 1951, and was built on a strong foundation of expertise and values to support our customers and employees.  Renamed Superior Metal Products in 1962, a name chosen to reflect the continuing development of supplying quality products.  A series of expansions and strategic acquisitions followed for stamping, plating, porcelain enameling, ink formulating, screen printing, and heavy tonnage press capabilities. Again, a name change was needed to encompass the entirety of the markets and customers we serve. Today, American Trim continues with the same commitment to values, dedication to quality, and customer support envisioned by our founders.

Our advance engineering, tooling, and program management teams provide responsive customer support from concept to production. American Trim’s quality team operates an on-site analytic lab and long-term durability test lab to maintain quality and process control. We take quality seriously and every employee is empowered to stop production for quality issues.

American Trim supplies a wide range of products including appliance control panels and assemblies, stainless steel appliance components, porcelain enameled products, heavy-duty truck bumpers, sun visors, grills, fuel tank brackets, and decorative finishes for automotive interior applications.

American Trim excels in developing decorative and protective coatings and maskings, advanced metal form options for complex shapes in a variety of materials and gauges, and a variety of printing processes that distinguish your structural and cosmetic components. Our other capabilities include selective film application, back-molding, precision CNC, assembly, and electronic integration.
